Do you have a passion for helping those in your community? If so, why not consider volunteering at your local Legion?
There are so many ways to help! Assist with our Veterans’ programs or lend a hand providing support and visitation services to the men and women who served our country. Help with our annual Poppy fundraising campaign or use your talents to plan, or staff, one of our special events.
Your commitment can be big or small, but one thing remains the same: our community needs your support.
The Club Room (downstairs) bar is newly renovated and open to anyone 19 and over. Patrons must bring ID. Come down to your local Legion branch and make some new friends!
The Legion offers pool and dart leagues throughout the year. Please see our events page or call the Branch for details.
Legion Branches support youth involvement in Remembrance in a variety of ways. From holding Remembrance ceremonies at schools, to speaking with students and youth organizations about Veterans, to inviting youth to participate in community and Branch commemorative services, to inviting Cadets to help with the Poppy Campaign, and much more, Legion Branches offer youth many opportunities to get involved and participate in honouring and Remembering Canada’s Veterans.
In addition to promoting Remembrance among the next generation, the Legion also supports youth leadership, fitness and the spirit of patriotism and service.
The Royal Canadian Legion is committed to supporting Veterans and their families and offers financial assistance for post-secondary education to those in need.
As part of the Legion’s commitment to Veterans and their families, Legion Branches may grant bursaries through the Poppy Trust Fund to the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Veterans who need financial assistance to pursue a post-secondary education. These bursaries can make a difference for Veterans’ families and offers these children an opportunity to further their educational goals. Bursaries may be granted at any stage of a college or university program.
Local Branches and Provincial Commands develop their eligibility requirements, deadlines and application procedures. Contact the local Legion Branch in your area for further information and assistance.
